Whatever you end up using. Protect your injector ports.

What are you blasting it for? clean oil and grim or paint?
Yes, make sure to protect the injector bosses and the head mating surface.

It's just nasty with oxidation. I already used Gunk engine cleaner and a pressure washer and it didn't do anything.

You can use glass bead, but tape off gasket surfaces, and injector holes, and coolant passages.
Once done, clean the dog poop out of it to make sure no glass winds up getting into the engine afterwards.

I would have a shop soda blast. Dissolves easily with washing. No sand or glass to get trapped.

I was thinking of getting baking soda from Home Depot, taping of the all internal openings and blasting it. Just wanted to see what everyone else had done before and what the feedback was.

You want bicarbonate soda. It is a crystalized version of baking soda, available in different grades. It's a one and done product.
