Default Virginia Motorsports Park "Mopar Madness" Petersburg, VA

This is a great drag strip. Usually run 1/4 mile unless the wind is blowing strongly.

BUMP. Possible mini-meet idea if 1/4 racing is what folks are interested in. Not super close to other attractions but semi-decent location on the east coast. 30 miles to Richmond which could have some off the track activities. Any interest?

Good deal. I already started looking at various things to do in Richmond as they have indoor karting and whatnot. If you want/need me to look into anything feel free to PM.

for what it's worth. The LX guys USALLY buy their own 55 gallon drum of VHT. BUT the track is always well prepped, and the lanes are recoated every so often.

I don't forsee there being room for autocross, once the car show area is established and the car haulers in the pits fill in.

There are 3 hotels right next to each other, about 10 minutes from the track, and 2 Waffle House's.

What's left? Hell, I may even decide to show up now that my truck can get 1053hp to the ground effectively.

Is it a full venue? Think we can squeeze 50+ Dakotas in there?

50 Dakota's in the same parking lot with their hoods up? Does triple A have enough tow trucks?

Yes, there is PLENTY Of room. I don't think there have a specific truck bracket class, but I can talk with the guy that does the event planning for the Modern Street Hemi Shootout and see if we can get a contact from that. I'm sure I can get that contact from Dan. I know VMP LOVES the LX guys because of the amount of racers they bring it.

Sean, John, & Jason have been to a MSHS race with me, and have seen how fast theses cars can go. The events they have also been too have been exclusive to the LX community meaning track rentals, and the facility is usually pretty full.

The last hotel we stayed at, the Jeep guys had their own keg for the parking lot party.

I went ahead and swapped my week of vacation today from June to this week in September. Jumping the gun, but we are only allowed a certain number of people off and I took the last spot that whole week.

Woohoo, Robby speaks the truth. I'd never been to this track until the other month. It used to be a full NHRA stop. The amount of asphalt in the pits alone is amazing compared to 99% of the tracks out there. They certainly have room for us and I'm willing to bet they'll make a class for us as it should be easy to fit us in on Saturday. I'm biased but I like this idea!
