Default ? for guys with spintech

i want to get the spintech mids and their catback minus the mufflers because i dont like how loud they are. has anyone replaced the spintech with another muffler? also how are the mufflers placed under the truck? i really wanna keep the over the rail side exit in tact and use the dynomax ultraflo muffler in place of the spintech. any pics from under the truck would be awesome. also do you guys think there is room if i still think its too loud to cut in some high flow cats? thanks

Some ancient cell phone pics from when I first installed the system... I don't have the tail pipes though, that's where your problem is going to be.

When I first bought the system I also got some Dynomax Bullets because I hated the way the Spintech's sounded in the videos I watched online. They sound better in person though IMO so I kept them. The only thing I don't like about them is the raspyness they get around 2500rpm iirc.

awesome thanks. any pics further up? i see the how the mufflers are offset on sides to put the exhaust up high to go over the rails. any dimensions on that muffler? its also not just how they sound loud but they arent a straight through muffler and thats what im after. like this http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.php?...ultraflowelded

I ordered my Spintech from ZeNDak99 here. He called on my behalf to see if they could dampen the tone. They said they could and I ordered it. They added an additional plate that is welded (it's flat and lays against outer shell on the outside so doesn't protrude in exhaust path) by the exit. Cost me $50 extra. I can't compare to one without but it doesn't have a crackling sound. It's a rumble.

The only clearance issue is with the steering shaft, which I had to dent the header more than it already was from spintech. Other than that the install was a snap. I don't know the dimensions of the mufflers but have heard 14x9 magnaflows install pretty easliy

ok cool. on another note has anyone run straight back on both sides and mounted two mufflers after the trans crossmember and dumped the exhaust after the next frame crossmember? would the driver side dump be too close to the gas tank? would be about 10-12'' away.

You would use an H pipe instead. I think I remember seeing somebody that did an exhaust like that. I think it was dumped before the trans crossmember.

Man thats short. would there even be room for a muffler haha? I wanna take the pipes back as far as I can to try and reduce cabin noise.

I plan on doing the same thing as you, dump them under the cab. While you don't NEED an H or X pipe. I definetly helps "even" out the flow. You could get away with an H pipe.
