If it's not going to be an "official" DRTC meet, there is no need for trophies. Door prizes would be cool if you could get a few donations, but not needed. I probably won't make it to any meat next year as I will be out of the Navy working a civilian job and probably won't have any vacation days on the books. Unless it was a midwest meet, that is.

I have a headache just catching up on this thread.

Hopefully it all goes as planned. I would love to see another big meet each year, whether it's the actual "National" meet or not. I don't understand all the finger pointing and blaming the east coast for having a lot of meets. The table has been open for a number of years now, and there are a LOT of divisions who don't have people willing to even put a proposal together. How is any sort of event supposed to happen without that?

Hey, with any luck, my travels with the race team will have me near this even next year and I can stop by!

    This.

I mentioned last year that I could personally deal without a ton of freebies and giveaways, I really just want to have the most people and trucks in one spot, to show, shine, race and booze. It doesnt have to be over-the-top.
HI. I like beer, burnouts, and boobies...

Andrew I have learned two things about situations like this in life:

1.) You cant please everyone all the time.

2.) When you want something done, not even right, most of the time you have to do it yourself. So in this case I decided I didnt need anyones permission or blessing so I have continued with that in mind. In all honesty I would either like to see two nat meets or just let the east coast guys do it there as the official national meet - they have a lot more butt hurt for a west coast meet that the west coast guys do. That said there is no reason two meets cant happen.

    Next post UPDATE TIME!

    So a quick update -

I talked to president of a reno mopar club called battle born mopars. On Monday 10/6 they read my email at their fall meeting and it was received with open arms. They would like to participate at a joint show n shine in the summit racing parking lot. They have a slough of older mopars to come show off and that would be cool for all of us who know the R/T inside and out already

The hotel just needs an approximate room block ahead of time and we can get rooms at the Grand Sierra Resort.

So in recap (these are all solidly in place):

Friday Tour at National Auto Museum - CHECK
Friday night in reno or local A&W GTG - CHECK
Banquet at Auto Museum for lunch and prize giveaway - CHECK
Saturday Show n Shine at summit - CHECK
Saturday dinner catered BBQ in parking of Grand Sierra - CHECK
Sunday Racing at Top Gun Raceway - CHECK

***Side notes - there is a huge jackpot race saturday at the raceway - Grand Sierra has a killer driving range that is on a lake if you like to hit balls - Friday is a huge GTG at a local A&W we could attend

I will love driving that stretch of Interstate 80 from Auburn to Truckee in my R/T. Last couple dozen times I drove it in a 18 wheeler, not fun
