    Default Harmonic Dampner

Harmonic dampener getting wobbly and the only replacement for the one piece design on my 03 is a factory replacement.
But I assume I can use a two piece design from earlier years?
If that is correct what's a good dampener I can get with removable weights that I can transfer over to my internally balanced 408 in the future?

I'm using the inexpensive Summit SFI Balancer on mine. I went internally balanced as well - so they just unbolted the counterweight portion and balanced the assembly that way.

    Like this one, correct?

One like that and use pre 2000 bolt on crank pulley?

I used one that looks like this:
    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-c4265/overview/

But I don't see one specifically for the 5.9 Magnum at this point.
    They used to have one.
It is the shiny Summit SFI balancer though.
    Not a black one.
It is on my '99 so it used the bolt on crank pulley.

You could probably get by with a non-sfi one anyway.
I've only had it checked for the SFI sticker exactly once - by a "new" guy in tech.

This one is lists Magnums under applications. And it's SFI rated.
    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pfs-90012/overview/

I don't need the SFI rating but the fact that its built better and passes certification is good with me.

I think try this one. Thanks

Do yourself a favor and throw that thing in the trash! I had one and after a year the outer shell started turning under and after replacing the ignition box, pick-up coil and distributor parts I finally figured it out. ATI! or innovators west for a race style balancer or a dayco from rockauto for a stock replacement.

ATI and Innovators West have internal balanced only. But I could just use a stock replacement until my 408 is ready, hell its only 40 bucks.
But I see now that the one piece balancer supersede all the two piece designs so finding a stock bolt on pulley s proving difficult. I don't want no under drive crap so I guess I need to scrounge a bone yard pulley.

Chad, what was the truck doing to prompt you to change ignition parts?

I plan on running an IW on mine too, makes crank timing with MSPro a lot more straight forward.

I got a smoking deal on an ATI balancer and MSD crank trigger, but next time I need to replace the balancer I will get an Innovators West with crank trigger outer shell.

what's the advantage of the IW one vs mounting the trigger wheel from DIY autotune?

DIY autotune is not for a crank trigger for an MSD ignition, it is for using a crank sensor, big difference bud.

No need to deal with mounting the trigger wheel, the magnets are in the damper.

In nitroram's comment he was referring to MSPro

Yeah, 4 magnets made into the damper instead of a separate wheel like the MSD setup.
