    Default Getting to the 13's.

Sorry for the n00b question. I searched and didn't really find the "magic" formula. So, with that being said...I'll start with what I think (From reading up), it takes to get to the 13's.

    Mopar M1 2BBL Intake.
52 mm TB (Or the Like)
    SCT Tuner
    Mid Length Headers
    Exhaust Work
Misc other mods (Lower T-Stat, Ignition...etc)
26'' Slicks (From what I understand this would put the gearing near 4.56?)

How far off am I? I assume things like suspension and the fact that my truck is a club cab have something to do with it. Current mods are nothing but a K&N FIPK and a custom catback. I would like to do this on the stock transmission (That has already been rebuilt, just a stock rebuild). I appreciate anyone's input!

That should get you into the 13's on a decent track. CC's are a little more difficult to get there because of the extra weight, but it can be done

[Kotta390] : Oh that's right! Well FML.....Looks like I am getting shafted because of my bore size

[BlakDak71] : I don't run oil, I run a special blend consisting of Hellman's mayo and the tears of a pregnant mermaid

[Kotta390] : My electric water pump puts out too much fuel at idle and is not a variable pump which makes it overheat in the summer at idle if I sit too long

[KotaRT] : Ed, you can have cake, as long as I get something in return

Whether or not you get into the 13's with those mods is gonna depend a lot your race weight and track conditions.

Check the link above for Typer00... His race weight on a CC is 4029 lbs.
That's not a typical CC weight. They're usually a couple hundred pounds heavier. The more weight you can get off, the faster your truck will be with those mods.

You'll also need to race on a track with good prep and a low density altitude.

And 26" tires w/3.92 rear is closer to a 4.22-4.23 effective gear ratio.

On a typical track, with typical weight, you should be very low 14's.

    WEIGHT WATCHERS

    urethane rollpan vs rear bumper
added soft tonneau, bedrug, and tailgate spoiler vs nothing/hard tonneaus, spray on or hard bedliners etc
15" rear sport wheels vs heavy rear R/T wheels
no spare tire + hoist vs installed
removed clutch fan + evap system vs stock/installed
lighter spintech headers and exhaust vs heavy cast factory pieces
even the m1 is lighter vs the beer barrel
removed heavy hotchkis front swaybar vs installed
    no car stereo vs bumps
5 gallons or less of fuel (@ 8 lbs per gallon = 40ish lbs) vs 20 gallons (@ 8 lbs per gallon = 160 lbs)

I haven't really gone in to try to really cut any real weight either.. I guess I'm on the opposite side of the fence wondering "how do some of your trucks weigh so much?"

My goal whenever going to the racetrack is to run the fastest time I possibly can, therefore I plan out my fuel mileage so I arrive with a 1/4 tank or less, and I take the time to set the truck up by pulling the swaybar, turning the shocks down, and swapping tires every time.

    lighter front bumper
no plastic stuff in cc/jump seat
    race wheels
    stupid short exhaust
