Default First time out autocrossing the truck

Just a few pics racing the truck through the cones. Most of the guys there couldn't believe I was racing the truck and then how fast it was almost stock.

    Great pics!

I love autocrossing mine too. This was taken at the '05 DRTC Nats.

If I was looking for an RC, that would be just the way I'd tune it.

I use to run an '85 Merkur XR4Ti(not pronounced exrawty) in ESP as well. Like it was ever competitive?

    Cool pictures, and videos.

What's your truck have for an exhaust? I like the way it sounds.

That exhaust does sound great. Mine sounded similar. I have Heddman shorty headers with a 3" cat back with a custom open muffler. Unfortunately we have really tight noise limits here so I had to replace it with just a high flow walker for now.

I like autoX better than drag racing.

Some people get really miffed when you beat them with a truck.

    Thanks!
It was a home built exhaust, with MP headers and downpipe, 2 into 1, 2 1/2" pipe, and then an 8" Flow into a Hooker power tip exiting in front of the passenger side tire.

    It's different now<even meaner>.
Spintech mid length headers with 3" downpipe, 3" true duals into a Magnaflow X chamber 2 in 2 out, then dumped before the axle.

    Same here.

They also get mad when you beat them on street tires when they use r-comps

awesome. drag racing just isn't as interesting after you have started to race any events with turns in them

id love to try it my truck but i can risk braking the daily driver. plus i don't have proper tires for it. the 20's would kill those tiny brakes we have and i only have snow tires on my 17's

its also great when you beat cars that weigh half as much as you and have twice as many drive wheels

My first time out they couldn't figure out what class to put me in, so I ended up in SSP. I came in 4th behind a Miata!

They really do. This was not my first time autocrossing, it is with the truck, but a guy came out with a new GTR and he just beat me by a few tens, he couldn't believe it. I also beat a few guys on race tires which really shocked me, these RSA's suck.

You should drive an R/T that has the Hotchkis/Bilstein setup. Compared to stock, it's a night and day difference!

I can't wait to get back out in the spring. Finished wearing out my LSD in the second to last event of the fall season.

But I'm seriously playing with the idea of getting a miata for a DD/autoX car and letting the truck go down for drag oriented mods.

my dad has a miata. im thinking i can get it some day and run spec miata... i dunno if he will ever let it go tho. the damn thing is a 1991 with 38k miles. its still got the factory tires on it (wich isnt exactly safe since they are over 10 years old.) it just sits in his garage. he drives it like twice a month in the summer.

you want to know whats funny. he has one of those hard top things you can put on the car if you drive it in winter or whatever. we priced it out and the dam hard top is worth more than the car.
