Thread: Mopar pph headers

    Default Mopar pph headers

Hi guys i found a nice set of mopar pph headers mid lenght with mopar y-pipe #p4876815 . they have very little surface rust nothing major the chrome is peeling off .
are these good headers and i believe they are steel ?
is it possible to spray paint them with header paint and what is the best header paint to do the job
i am planning to bring them to a shop for sandblasting and then paint them
i am going to start with my durango again it was sitting a few years
i am planning to replace the mopar headers with my gibson stainless steel ceramic shorty headers . is it worth it ?
and does anybody know the gasket size for the collector to y pipe so i can purchase new gasket
    many thanks

The Mopar mid-length headers will be better than the Gibson shorties.

The crossover pipe number is for the Durango. It would cross under the trans. pan on a Dakota. 2 gaskets on that pipe are the same size, 2 1/2 inch, 3 bolt holes with standard collector pattern. The exit collector is 3 inch with a 3 bolt pattern also.

yes the crossover pipe is for a durango 4x4 i have a durango 4x2 . i think the crossover pipe will fit on the 4x2 and if it cross under my pan i will modified it so i can get my pan off without removing the crossover pipe .those y pipes are always a pita to install . i already had problems with the jba y pipe hitting my transmission pan so i welded a new 90 degrees pipe on it to clear the pan . so i need 2 gaskets 2 1/2 inch and one 3 inch gaskets 3 bolt pattern . Thanks

Not stainless. Chrome plated steel. A decent header with a 1 5/8 primary tube.

Thank you Richard for the info they look huge if i compare them to the gibson shorties the primary tube of the gibson are 1 1/2 so thats a plus for the pph . i want to use the pph with the 210 camshaft for low end torque . i am very happy with these headers

Installed these on my 2000 back when new. No complaints at all. Had them Cerakote chrome, saw pictures 20 year later and still looks good. I would Consider getting them coated for protection.

Yes i will coated them i will bring them to the sand blaster and i think i will go with the bakeless cerakote coating instead of a spraycan . shipping the headers to the USA would cost me more than the jet hot coating it self so i will give it a try to coat them myself
