Removed the old cam bearings from my block. They were in actually great shape other than the one that was gouged when the machine shop installed it. Just as well, some of the oil holes weren't lined up all that great.
I have two OTC cam bearing remover/installer tools.
The first one I originally pieced a complete kit together with all the sizes off eBay by buying kits, taking what I needed, and then selling the remaining pieces. I paid a total of $165 after the dust settled. The red set is a universal/adjustable kit that uses a screw for removal and installation. It pulls the bearings in true but is slower to use. It can also do larger diesel Cat engines.
The kit I used was an older OTC slide hammer set-up with the proper sized mandrels for the Chrysler small and big blocks. I got it off Craigs list for $125. It is accurate and is much quicker and easier to use.
