Thread: 3.90 to 4.56

    Default 3.90 to 4.56

With around 300hp to the rear wheels, 275 street tires, how much time can you expect to gain in the 1/4 going from 3.90s to 4.56s?

depends on the whole combo. Will it carry the power out in the higher rpms? Will you be able to hook off the line?

Thought they didn't make 4.10s for our trucks?

You won’t notice much to 410s, the ideal gear is 430 but I believe there was only 1-2 sets made, 456s with 28” tire, or 390s-410s w/26s will put you in the same range

Sounds like the easier route is to go with 26" drag radials for the track. You get drag radials and better gearing for 0-60, 2 birds with one stone.

26" tire w 3.92's or so gives you a 4.21's give or take a smidge.

Down side is that the 26" has less sidewall. Making it less forgiving.

you don't need much forgiveness on trucks with this power level. Besides, people are going crazy fast with 26s these days lol

No doubt about that. But that comes down to suspension and power tuning.
Not many here have the leafs setup for high AS and have DA shocks front and back that are valved for fast separation.

I tried 26s, before I went with Drag shocks, and you’re right, it hits hard, w/28s you get more sidewall, but then again, a lot of us are running 10” wheels with 12-13” tire, so you also get more footprint
