Just finished installing my MSaine trans a week ago. I have went through the break in period as prescribed with mild driving.
After driving about 10 miles on the highway then 10 miles around town (stop and go traffic), my temp gage was reading 198 when I got home.

I left the trans in neutral and immediately measured the temp at the pressure and return lines with an infrared thermometer at the radiator (I have Aeroquip -6AN PTFE Stainless braided hoses and fittings; no auxilliary trans cooler)
Pressure line read 168.4
Return line read 130.3
My question; Is 198 considered to hot where I am measuring the temp in test port #1?
My temp sender is located in the test port #1 below. I am using an adapter that threads into the test port so the temp sender does not protrude to far in the trans; see below.

Fluid is serviced to the correct amount, cooler was flushed prior to install and lines are brand new.
Just wondering why the temps between the actual line temps and at the trans vary so much and if the 198 temp is ok or not?
Thanks for the help.
