Default Second Master Cylinder Needed got Rear Disc Conversion?

Hey Guys. For the 2002 and previous trucks, is a second master cylinder needed in order to do a rear disc brake conversion. I have seen hot rods use multiple cylinders, one for the front brakes and a second for the rear. Will this be needed for a Dakota?

When I had my truck, I swapped the drum for discs using an SSBC kit. I used the stock master cylinder, but took out a pressure spring inside, as per the instructions. This was on a '00 model.

I swapped went to a 03 disk brake rear and left with og master. And it felt fine to me.
Do you have the rear already? My 03 rear with 3.90 ratio and auto locker is for sale.

I swapped to an 03 disc rear, used the OE 99 master, modified the proportioning valve.
