Thread: '01+ Double din install with new Metra Kit

  1. #1

Default '01+ Double din install with new Metra Kit

Lay the cutting template over the bezel.

    Make your marks.

    Now cut. Dremel works best.

Place the new faceplate on the bezel.

Now trim the plastic above the radio opening. Depending on your radio depth, you may also need to cut off the metal bracket circled in red. Sawzall works best here just move your wires out of the way.

And if your radio is deep like mine, the bottom bracket will need to go too.

Now there is so much room for activites! Excuse my mess. I have 2 amps in my system.

    Finished product.

You may need to take the bezel on and off several times to get your radio in the right position.

Looks good.. Just did the same to my 98.... Found my Harbor Freight Oscillating Multitool did a great job doing the cuts in the dash.

Don't know why when I upload picture then end up in the wrong perspective. At least it's not upside down.

    Here's what I had before:

I got over waiting for the screen to flip out every time I got in and started the truck.
