Default First Time Out With Truck!!!

Was able to get my truck out this weekend and pop my drag racing cherry. ( i did a little racing in high school but that was 18 years ago) very first pass was a 12 flat right off the trailer. i made 6 total passes and was able to get an 11.8 at 112 with a 1.69 60 at around 3900+ DA i didn't touch the truck at all pulled plugs to make sure it wasn't eating its self that was about it!! got faster with every pass mostly from just me getting seat time! lots of potential in this thing yet and a few things i need to upgrade still but its a start! i had 0 traction/wheelhop issues it pulled hard and straight and didn't skip a beat!

    Combo
    408 Stroker
    Eddy heads (untouched)
    248@50 cam around 550 lift
performance products intake ( air gap style)
    Shorty Headers
    demon 850 carb
727 with a 3500 Stall (billet front drum, 4.2 lever)
    Ford 9" 3.55 with a spool
caltracs with beltech springs and calvert shocks
calvert 90-10 up front with beltech coils
    unsure of weight but.....
97 RC with bench seat no carpet heater box dash gutted no inner fenders gas tank removed and some other odds and ends!

Willing to bet your still hanging around 4k with you in for weight. Those 3.55 gears in the rear is killing your 60'f. I have had 3.92 geared stock suspension SBE trucks on nitrous run a faster 60'f. iirc it was like a 1.4 60'. Also for a stroker you are severely choking that thing with untouched Eddys. But overall nice shake down

You prolly picked up .3-.5 with just the 727 and minor chassis work. My guess is your truck weighs in around 3800lbs. Nice going. One more hurrah for carburetors.

Considering your almost 4000 ft above sea level, I think you did pretty well. You'd prolly be 11.2-4 at sea level. Get some breathing in those Eddies and a steeper gear set and you're at or below 11.4 I bet where you're at..

He will have a 10s truck for sure if he opens those eddies and goes to 4.10 gears. Or well he should be damn close to 10s. Just needs to hit it with a little giggle gas and 10s most definitely lol

BTW, if you are ever in the Burlington Karmart Dodge. You will most likely find one of this clubs ex-presidents (Danno) there at the parts desk. Wealth of knowledge on Mopar SB. I'm sure he wouldn't mind shootin' the breeze w/you if he's not busy.
