I started my truck yesterday and as it came up to temp I noticed some white smoke rolling out of the hood and a distinct Barbecue smell. I shut it off and checked for fire, or obvious causes. Then I made sure the neighbors weren't having a cookout and not inviting us. The smoke seemed to be coming from the headers near the brake lines which I recently replaced. Does brake fluid make this smell, or do I need to keep looking? any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I mean hot brake fluid will create white smoke. I would say try to fire it up and keep the hood open and just get out and inspect it. Always would advise having an extinguisher handy but you prob just got some stuff on your headers.
