Does it have to be an air hat, a lot of us are running a 4-5” k&n with a k&n top,

Do you have any part #'s for the k@n ,, looks like lower filter hsg. will hit linkage ???
Reason for upgrades is i'm waiting on parts input for a [4 1/4in.] stroker build availability....Thanks again.

I like the idea of the k-n air filt,,is it 14 inch x 4 in. tall ? i know the breath through top,, does it need to be a drop filter for hood clearance??
I was looking at the spectra with diff. colored filters and chrome ring on top of filt drop. lower hsg. but didn't think it'd clear the linkage?? Thanks again.

Holley EFI Carburetor Hats 120-230 This is what i'm running on a 1000 cmf throttle body it has an 3.5 inlet with a 4150 carb flange 5.125 By the way that's a Summit part no. I can take a pic and measure the height above flange in the morning if you want to see it.

I looked at description and it said 4 in. above flange. It's a nice piece but unsure of the 3.5 inlet ,seems to me 1200 cmf may need 4 in. inlet

Your correct, need 4 in. inlet, not many choices,, k-n air filt. if it'll fit or saw an air hat for $238.00 ,,a little spendy ?

I ran that same K&N air hat , with an Intense performance cold air, but I think it’s pulling more air under the direct cowl hood, F6C4F7EB-A3AB-44BA-9C14-F460FDD4E9DA.jpg
Just can’t remember off hand the part number to the drop base underneath, also the IAC is is under the drop base, so the harness had to be extended, the cowl hood had to be cut out from underneath also

Thanks,,you've been a world of help,, i have 2 [think there edelbrock#1002 air filts. with the open top] wouldn't work in dusty climate,,but here in Florida we only stop bugs.. Putting a 1200 cfm. throttle body [4 barrel] on truck so i'll deal with air filt then.. Think i can gain - 1/2 in. in height for big air filt, plus linkage movement ???

Thanks for all the help-advice-ideas... I purchased a stinger fiberglass hood,, 4 in. air cleaner with offset base fits perfect.. I like the hood because it's functional. Next is the 4 bbl. linkage [completed] ..
Thanks again.. Lots of good ideas on the site..
Forgot,, special thanks to black night showing his air filter set up,, just what I did except red.. I was surprised it did make a considerable difference..
