What is the plan to tuck the front wheels, with the stock frame?

Most likely. At least for a while.

Have not decided on the front yet. Either convert to 5x4.5 or 5x4.75. I'll fabricate a new front suspension to get the ride height correct. I need to try and keep the front rails stock to stay in some non tube chassis classes.

The tubing benders are fairly cheap when you consider the cost of each die set. I use the JD2 model 32 with a hydraulic cylinder. The die’s will cost way more than the bender itself if you do a variety of tubing sizes. JD2 doesn’t seem to have sales on their tubing benders unfortunately.

Nice little frame jig you made. Just a thought, but you might want to place it on pavement so the legs don’t sink into the ground at different rates, thereby possibly cocking the frame a bit. You might also place some jack stands beneath the jig once the level is set for safety. I’m not sure what thread size the feet are, but they are fairly long, and may not take a side load as well as the downforce, should it get bumped by accident.

Yup. the dies are the killer on the prices. Im still waiting to here back on the Hossfeld. But if it doesnt work out then ill be ordering a JD2 32.
The pic of the jig on the grass was just to sure how much adjustability there is in the legs and its the only spot to get a decent pic
Its on my concrete driveway now and the legs are nearly as short as possible. Leg adjusters are fine thread hardened 0.625" with 1.25" thread engagement. I plan to step the size up on the units for customers.

Cool! Excellent quality equipment. I've got the Pexto Model 381. I modified an old workbench and added shelves to it for a stand.

If you call Roper Whitney, they can probably dig up the old manual for it and email it to you.

niebs, I assume you are aware of the tv show "Gearz". The guy has a segment on back yard builds and he gives away metal working tools to the ones he thinks are most tv worthy. I'm thinking yours could be a candidate for this. Might be a chance to get a nice brake or cutter. Nothing to lose. I can snoop down the address if you're interested.

Hey, awesome! I know of the show, but i never thought about submitting my build to anything like that. Thank you for the idea and for thinking its worthy enough to be a candidate!
