Default New to the forum, not to Dakotas.

I bought an '02 Dakota, custom ordered 4.7+5 speed. Had a blast with it until the trailer brakes failed on a move from California to Virginia and ended up kissing the back of a semi in 2014. I had been on various Dakota forums with the same name (Mainly Dodge Dakotas and Dakota USA), but trucks in Virginia don't last out there. I ended up in a 2006 Ram for a few years, but always turned my head when I saw a Dakota. When I moved back to Washington, the market here is healthy and I got myself an '03 R/T that came from North of the border. Feels good to be back in the right vehicle.

It came with a TB spacer, airaid, and an MSD Blaster coil, I suspect it has a tune, but not sure how to confirm. I got power stop Z23 brakes on the front and will get them on the back when I can move my arms. Also got some 275/55r17 Grabber UHP tires out on to hook it up. The 3.92 gears and shorter tires are taking some getting used to comparer to the 3.55s that my 02 had.

Just this one so far, I've swapped out the leaky one pieces that my 02 also had for a short time with two pieces with a clear primary. The silver was my 02 when it hit 100k miles.

Take the TB spacer off and use it as a paper weight.

That would take work at this point, I am considering an M1 in the future though. Just feels like it struggles to get air through it over half throttle compared to how my 4.7 was. Uncork it a little. But we have so much to do around the house that we still haven't unboxed everything after the move.

Only four bolts and the air hat nut to get rid of the spacer though lol.

But doing nothing at all requires less effort and has the same level of effectiveness.

It's debatable whether or not the spacer is actually making things worse rather than doing nothing though...
