Default I bought a cheap rt

What's up DRTC! Been awhile since I have been on here or posted anything. Anyway thought i might share some pics of my new rt.

2 years ago I but this 2002 dakota for $500.00. Seemed like a good deal at the time. It had 62,000 miles was bone stock and had a collision with a big ass boulder lol. It sat for a over a year before I began any work on it. Slowly I been peicing it back together.

    When I bought it

    How she sits now

I will probably never get it paint matched..I kind of like the Frankenstein look lol. The engine runs strong. It needs an alignment bad..Steering wheel is crooked and there's some vibration from the drive train when driving. Hoping the alignment will take care of all that. Surprisingly it drives straight though, no pulling.

By the way, If anyone has a junk dakota sitting around I could use the first chunk of frame rail if someone wanted to cut it off. Then I could retain factory mounting points for bumper and radiator. Will pay $$ Closest junk yard is 3 hours, figured I'd try my luck here. Thanks!

May want to get the frame checked out to make sure its still square. How much frame rail do you need? I may cut mine soon.

I do want to get it checked by a professional. Once I get a bumper on it and am street legal i will go do that.

So I need the first 11" of frame rail. Measuring from the top straight back.

Definitely a nice rescue, even if you find a sports dakota and swap everything over to the frame, nice save !

Went to the yard and got the frame section I needed. Thanks for the offer Niebs but I no longer need it.

Nice pick up! Where did you end up picking that hood up from ?

You have to love the price and what a find with only 62,000 miles on it and from where you are I assume it's rust free. I had an 02 R/T in Graphite Metallic that I bought just to get the cowl induction hood off it and then sold it and made a few bucks. I do like the color which was introduced in 2002 so only available on R/T's for two years.
