Default What’s up with E85? HP gains

Is it worth the work and money for HP gains. Also is it even possible to e85 2nd gen Dakotas.
I’m getting ready to dump $1500 in my truck I wanna make it worth while.

What work is required to e85 my truck. I also plan on nitrous near future as well.

e85 on low compression is not worth it imo. If you plan on FI then i would say look into it. You will basically need to replace the whole fuel system and then have a way to tune for the fuel.

I thought I would just need a flex fuel sensor and change my fuel pump.

Think this is the last thing you should be thinking about spending your $1500. Unless you ready have a turbo or supercharger set up. Perhaps if you tell us what you are starting with you will get some meaningful recommendation on how to spend your money. Looks like you will also have to deal with CARB.

If you are stock, things like headers, exhaust, throttle body and a tune is probably going to take up most of your money.

I run e85 in my Dakota, 14:1 compression. Things to think about are how readily available is e85 in your area. And it will probably cost 1500ish to upgrade your fuel system to accommodate the E85. You burn roughly 30% more fuel with E85 then gas, so bigger fuel lines, filters, pumps, and rails will be needed.

Start up was me and my shop owner, dyno time was Chris @ performance injection equipment and my shop owner, fine tuning at the track like setting up the 2-step,and giving it more fuel where it needed it was my shop owner. runs great, it went 10.8's without even touching the adjustable shock or messing with traction bars. 1.6 60's are horrible but to still run 10.8's- she was pulling hard I expect to be below 10.5's once I get the new converter and iron out the suspension.

How much time will I save if I put a stall. It’s not a Daly driver so I don’t mind going high on the stall...... I know I can only do so much with a stall because of not having a cam.... I was thinking 3500 stall lol
