Default 6 TO 5 lug convert. 1999 Dakota RT

Hay guy I just bought a drag set up from SVE there 5 lug 4.5bolt pattern. (Mustang drag wheels)
I already installed the back wheels with 2inch adapters It looks great. but the front wheels sticks out way to much.

I’d like to convert my stock 6 lug spindle to a 5 4.5 lug. Has anyone done it yet? If so please let me know the easiest way to do it. I’ve did a little research but can’t find the right answers.

Is there a spindle I can buy that’s ready to install and what rotor do I buy? And is bearings necessary?

I wish I could upload pics! It’s so nice to see a Dakota with a 15x10inch rim with 28inch tall white letter Hoosiers and 17x4.5 rim with white letter Hoosier.

I did the conversion to 5x4.75. I bought new hubs, pulled the bearing and studs off. Saw I had two holes overlap. So I welded them shut and redrilled new bolt pattern using a Bridgeport lathe with digital readout.
    Then had to redrill rotors.

Isnt there a work around with crown vic hubs or something?
I would just look into using mustang struts.

    Mustang struts?

I was hoping there was something more like Remove and Replace parts. I can’t weld lol.
The 2inch adapters In front are starting to look good.

This was the first result for "5 lug" search. There's three options in this thread alone.

I used '03-'04 Dakota knuckles and pressed the spindle out then had that machined down to accept a '94-'04 Mustang wheel bearing. Then, with a couple of spacers I made, '13 Mustang GT two piston calipers and pads/rotors from the same year bolt right on and fit under 17" wheels.

IS there a reason you used 03-04 spindles?

And it seems vary simple. But I think my spindle and hub is different from a 1998..... I’m a 1999

A few reasons. The stock style pins on the early trucks are tiny and aren't really suitable for much other than the stock brakes in their stock form. They also bolt up since they didn't change much over the years so the ball joints and tie rod ends will all still work without issue. And most importantly for the brake swap, the spacing between the holes for the factory caliper mounting bracket and the '13 Mustang GT dual piston calipers happen to be exactly the same so mounting them up is as easy as making the spacers and buying some longer bolts.

The only thing you really would have to make are the spacers and I did that with a band saw and a grinder. The spindle I got machined down by a friend on his lathe. The entire knuckle is swapped for a '03-'04 spindle so it doesn't matter what year yours is as it wouldn't be used anymore.

I’ve been doing research and if your redrilling your factory hub on your 98-02 a 98-03 ranger 4x4 rotor should work

I wish I could post pics! My truck looks sick! Even with the 1/78 inch adapters . I think I’m just gonna leave it with the adapters and invest mo why Into a stall converter or nitrous

Always like the idea of 5 lug, and having more options in rims, but think the stock rim looks so damn good with the design of the truck. Would end up wanted a 5 lug version of the R/T rim so I could go with that look if ever I wanted.
