Default Dakota X-Brace Fitment with Alternate Center Bearing Crossmember

Alternate Dakota Center Bearing Crossmember with 2-piece Driveshaft and 5 Speed Transmission.

For the first time since I’ve been making Dakota x-braces, a customer purchased one for use on a 1997 Dodge Dakota Club Cab with a 5-speed transmission. This vehicle uses a different center bearing crossmember from the one that comes in the Dakota RT CC and some others. With some additional spacers and longer bolts, the HiPoTek Dakota X-brace will fit the alternate style of center bearing crossember.

If interested, please contact Richard at the following email address: Richard@hi-potek.com

The center bearing crossmember in the back is used on the RT and some others, while the one in the front is used on vehicles such as the 1997 Dakota CC with 2-piece driveshaft and 5-speed transmission.

I was the customer who ordered this. I just got through installing it, and it went in without a problem. I think the longest part was drilling through the frame on my back. Everything fit well, doesn’t hang any lower than the rear diff. The handling and road comfort have been greatly increased. This really does make the truck much more enjoyable. Thanks again!
