    Welcome.. guess the question has to be asked.. How fast to you want to be and how much money do you want to spend? No mention of throttle body PCM, would make sense with the intake. Cold air kit?

    A big pile of $$ would be a start.

    Welcome to the club!

    What kinda fast do you want? Daily vehicle, street/strip truck, weekend toy?

    Some common upgrades that are simple to do or have done;
    -upgrade gears (lose hwy mpg but slightly increased city) 4.56’s best bang for buck, 4.10’s are a good all around gear and probably best if doing more drag races.
    -1.7 roller rockers, little bump for the cam.
    -upgraded heads and cam, great bang for you buck more more involved and chain reaction to upgrade other parts
    -Throttle Body, easy modification
    -cold air intake, slight increase, but will help with other mods to follow
    -good tune, increases your rpm’s, shifts, drive ability and hp
    -upgrade valve body or purchase upgraded unit to help with shifting.
    -upgraded torque converter, also something to do down the road to compliment your other mods. Have to pull the trans to do this.

    Not sure how many miles are on your truck or maintenance that’s been done, but a good start is to change the trans oil, filter and adjust the bands to keep the trans running longer.

    Good place to shop for almost all these parts and more; stores.hi-potek.com Richard is a member here, Dakota enthusiast, and has a lot of great upgrades he sells for these trucks.

    Post some underhood pictures. Take the air cleaner off. If your intake has been changed it is likely other modifications have been done.
