    Default Returning Founding member..

Been gone a very long time. Old timers will remember me. First club president, member number 001.

I've had three R/T's all bought new. 99 Blk CC bought back on the towing issue. 2000 BLk RC highly modified that I sold to another club and executive board member after a lay off. Then a 2001 AF CC that I turned back in at the end of a lease in 2004.

Kind of followed when we were still on Yahoo groups, but once the switch to this forum I would lurk a couple time a year to see what was going on.

Got side tracked with 89 Mustang Convertible for a while. Sold that about 5 years ago and have been without a special interest vehicle. Been working on my 1928 house. Changed jobs a couple times and work a side business restoring vintage stereo equipment.

Got the Mopar itch again and Dakota R/T is on my short list and pretty much my primary search right now. Looking for the right one and may have located it.

Decided to reconnect with the community and hopefully some old friends.

    A couple of questions.

Want to go from honorary status to a premium membership. Says you get a T-shirt and sticker. Is this still going on? There doesn't seem to be any executive board members listed on the site. Sort of seems like the club died in 2015. Not much activity in the regional forms. What happened?

So does membership just support the operations of this form and swag?

    Regards to all,

    Welcome back!

Facebook happened to all the forums, mostly. Though there were some issues with a previous regime here that didn't help at that time lol.

I wasn't around at the start but welcome back to the forum!

I also blame the decline of the forum to cell phones and facebook, with some emotion thrown in. Facebook posts seem to be a flash in the pan; if you're not staring at your phone 24/7, you miss posts. And, if you do see a post, good luck finding it again for later review. Many people tell me that they're mostly on facebook, but check out the R/T club for information. However, unless they support the forum, it will eventually fade away.

Thanks all. Guilty of Cell phone and Facebook, but hard to follow threads and ignore things that you are not interested in. I'm in plenty of other forums that have not suffered. This site is could be a lot more phone friendly.

Great to see you back Mike. I still have the 2000 flame red with a Pro-charger on it from the "Ragin' Tornados" Topeka Kansas days. It looks and runs better than new. Good luck shopping for your new toy. Robert Gillum

Certainly remember your truck and talking to you.. Most else was just a blur. National meets were not all that fun for the people running them.

Glad your Back .. I was a member early .. it seemed to be a more active club.. obviously the trucks were new back then.. tuning has improved.. they offer upgraded heads for these motors.. they are rare .. and 90s era Muscle cars and trucks .. are gaining interest and collectibility.. I’m sure there are less and less of these trucks around .. especially if you compare production numbers to similar performance cars of the era .

Hey Mike, welcome back! I also recall you in the club when I was just getting involved. I started at the decline of the yahoo groups.
Everyone else nailed it with the decline. Big fueds from past executives with each other and members was at the start. Cell phone advancement and Facebook also didn’t help, but also the fact that these trucks are 20+ years old and interest/new parts aren’t happening anymore like they were. People don’t want to spend $1500 on Corbaeu seats when the trucks worth $4000. There are still enough enthusiasts to keep it going however.
We do need to find a cheaper host that can be more cell phone friendly asap. URLJet is expensive for what we are getting.

On paid memberships, we made two options, one helps the club, the more expensive option gets you a shirt and sticker. Everyone has 10+ shirts by renewing every year, I’d like to change that and offer something new.

Good luck with your hunt, and can’t wait to see what you pick up
