Default 2000 durango won't run, alarm won't quit

My buddy's Dad has a used car lot. He's hospitalized in bad shape and we're trying to shut down the lot. It's a real mess. We have to sort out all the vehicles to see what's junk and what isn't.

Anyway, he has a 2000 Durango up there. As soon as we hook up a battery, the alarm starts going off. It will fire for a second, the alarm never stops and it will die.
I'm assuming the alarm is keeping it from running.
We have a key but no fob.

    Now what?

Keep the rango buy a fob from dodge , you will need to show registration or title if it’s in good condition

    Problem solved!
I went by my local dealer to find out what programming a new fob would cost($60-70). The service guy did NOT tell me that I should hook up the battery and then unlock the passenger door with the key.
    Worked like a charm!
