Default Quick update on my junk

Well I scored an R3 Magnum race block last week, it is a virgin untouched block that I will be transferring all my parts over into from my stock block 410 engine.
I was going to find the limits of the stock block for the hell of it, so far the stock block has held 1000hp at the crank. Now that I have found a unicorn I'm not going to test the stock block limits and possible destruction of my internals and possibly my heads.
For now it will be a 410cui engine, later on I will build a 426 (4.125 bore 4" stroke) turbo engine with maybe Victor heads.
Look for some very low numbers soon as I will no be able to use all of my sledgehammer plate without fear of splitting the block.

Specs on the block (when they were still made)

You have a target ET? What would be the incentive for a 426 turbo?

I don't have a target ET, just keeping getting lower.

    the incentive is more power

I'm staying 4" crank but with the bore at 4.125" it does two things, unshrouds the valves to the cylinder walls and allows for more cylinder fill.

I know the "426" number is "magical" in Mopar parlance. For me, that would be incentive enough. I'd do it all now or at least I'd go with a cam to produce valve events conducive to a turbo set up while you have the bare block out if you don't have that cam already. You shouldn't have to worry about any block flex no matter how hard you hit it with that thing.

Nice score!!! New block have capability for the extra studs for the Edelbrock Victor heads? Those would be good to use with the future turbo set up.

Yes I did, it was called drag week, I also got 5 of my 6 license passes done before a rocker broke on me, part fatigue failure no error on anyone's part. The rockers I got with the head were older than the seller told me. I have a brand new set that just showed up to replace them, also upgraded the lifters while I had the engine down, found out #8 roller had bad roller bearings, they are getting bushed rollers now.

Not changing the cam till I go turbo, right now I'm transferring all my parts over into the new block, I will collect all my turbo parts then I will bore and O-ring the block and install billet main caps at that time.

This is a 59* block, it has the outer head bolt bosses, the inner bosses in the lifter valley are machined away as they won't clear the pushrods on a 59* lifter angle. I can run the outer head studs and O-ring the block, it will hold the power I want to make no problem.

Gotcha. I saw you on drag week but didnt see you post about running afterwards so I wasnt sure if you made any laps recently. Rocker failure would limit that tho. It'll be good to see it back on the track.

Ok fine. As a former truck letterer, I'm not gonna letter "426" on your hood if I ever see your ass or truck run in person. Maybe I'll tease you and cut the numbers out of cnc vinyl and send you just the numbers.
