Thread: Narrowed Rear???????

    Default Narrowed Rear???????

Any one running a narrowed rear but still retaining the leaf springs in the stock location? i am getting a fab 9 built but would like to run a 10" wide wheel with around 5.5" of backspacing... in doing some quick measurements it looks like in order to do that the rear end would need to be about 2 inches narrower each side. doing some quick math it seems like that would fit well and not cause any issues. but seeing if anyone has done this and can give me some input. i did a quick search not a whole lot of info out there.. im getting a rear end built and figured i might narrow it a bit from stock at same time.also thought about stock axle width and a 15x10 with 7.5 of bs
    Thanks!

Get wheels and tires you want first. Then cut rear to width.

Get wheels and tires in hand, take measurements, then cut. Manufacturers measurements I have found to be off. I can't remember what I cut off my rear. I run 12" beadlock weld wheels with the M/T 315 pro's (14.5"s wide). I have something like 5/8 to 3/4" room between leaf spring and tire

Back spacing will make or kill the deal.
