Default 4 barrel carb on 5.9l

Anyone done the swap to carb that would share pics of how they did the linkage with the tv cable. I’m putting a Fitech on my 5.9 and looking for ideas. I have to mount linkage to the passenger side like the oem TB setup or my air hat does not clear. That is using the original cable of course.

Here you go. Chevy throttle return bracket off eBay. Cut up factory bracket and GM kickdown stud with a Lokar cable adapter

First I've seen your post, somehow I missed it prior. Not that I would have been any help anyway.

Any more info you can provide on your truck?

    Sure,

I was a Dakota R/T guy some years back but I still lurk around here because you guys are the only truck guys still hopping up the 5.9s

    It’s a 1995 ram 1500 2wd. Bought in January

    Lowered 2/4
    2016 wheels
Swapped out 318 for low mileage sludged up 360. Went ahead and replaced all bearing and rering the short block.
Hughes Eq heads with light bowl work.
    Edelbrock dual plane carb manifold
Rebuilt tranny (46rh) with all the goodies
    Custom ground cam
    Saine 2800 converter
    Vortech v1 s trim
340 lph pump with my custom basket mods.
    Long tubes

Still have yet to fire up after all that work but hoping to over this 4 day holiday.

I’m in N.C. so anything pre obd I don’t have to play by the same rules when it comes to emissions

Sounds like an interesting project. Post a pic or two sometime.

    Good luck on your startup.

I went to a full manual 727 couple years before I went with a carb, before that I had manual valve body on a 46RE with the auto flashed out of my pcm. I can't see anything but a nightmare trying to hook up a kickdown linkage to work.

Yes I spent several weeks just kind of starring at it. There was a lot of brainstorming and a couple of failed attempts. The lokar cable end is the greatest thing in the world. I can’t believe they are the only ones who make these. Part# was s-1034. Holley 20-40 is the part# for the stud for the tx cable. The rest requires some creativity.
