Default Oil pan on engine swap

    Hi guys
Really need help/advice on my unusual project.
I’m attempting to put a 2001 Ram 5.2l in my sons
99 R/T since I obtained a low mileage engine and have
Refreshed it. I have now realized the oil pan will not fit
With the Dakota suspension and need the geometry of
The 5.9 oil pan. Since the rear radius is different between
The two engines not sure what to do. They don’t make a
5.2l pan it seems to fit the Dakota. Any ideas would be
    Very much appreciated

Just use the stock Dakota 1997-2003 5.2/5.9 pan. The 5.2 and 5.9 Magnum engines use the same pan for the specific vehicle.

It's the LA 318 and LA 360 that have the different radius main bearing caps I believe.

Richard is correct. Just use a pan for a Dakota. And you'll have to use a difference oil pump pick up tube for the Dakota also. The Ram oil pick up tube will not work in a Dakota oil pan. Here are a few links.

Ok guys I will take another look at it. I thought pan rear radius was different because the oil pan
Gasket was different for the two engines and I thought I had tried the 5.9l gasket and it didnt
Fit. I will remove oil pan and doublecheck.
    Thanks again
