Need to make up some spark plug wires and I'm unsure what type to order.
I'll be getting Spintech mid length headers. Should I use straight or 135 degree spark plug boots?
Do the port plates interfere with straight boots?

I do agree about the Firecore wires. I've read a lot of good things about them.
But what about the boots and interference with port plates? Is it not an issue?
What I'm thinking is that I'll get an el' cheapo set of Summit "make your own wire sets" to get the routing just right and them send them in to be duplicated.

no problem

Have these on my truck with Spintech long tubes with no issues.
Excellent wires for the price, and they fit like glove.
I also bought their wire looms listed at the bottom the page.
Made for a nice install.

I like this idea! This is just my personal preference, so take for what it's worth. I used the Taylor wire looms for several years. They turned out to be VERY annoying to me.Any time I wanted to pop a valve cover off I had to mess around getting the looms off. Find the correct Allen wrench, hold the loom in place because it wanted to spin & bend the wires more than I liked. My valve covers leaked so I felt like I wasn't able to tighten the plastic pieces as tight as I could have. At the track I wanted "keep it simple stupid". Wires over the top, 7/16" socket, done. Like I said, just my experience.

I have some like this on order but the vertical mount type. My idea is to drill and tap an open spot on the port plates to mount them to so they are not attached to the valve cover at all. And route around the back of the heads on some unused holes. If it works out I'll have a buddy with a CNC machine duplicate the nylon looms out of aluminum.
Any one have some good pictures of the Spintech plates and headers mounted on the head?

FWIW I sell the Firecore50 wire sets on my website.
As per Firecore I have the lowest shipped price on Magnum wiresets.
They fit great and work better than anything else on the market.
