Default A/C compressor won't shut off

My a/c compressor won't turn off. What could be causing it to stay on even when I push in the knob

If you unplug the wire connection does it still run engaged?

Are you talking about the connection under the dashboard that leads to the pushing button

Unplug the connector under the hood. there will be a shortish lead from the compressor, plugging into the engine harness.

Just learn how to form a proper sentence structure and thread title and we will be happy to help.

The control on the dash isn't set to defrost by chance? Not likely being in FL.
