Has anyone considered getting a custom set of rear leaf springs made at a suspension shop to the same specs as hotchkis rear leafs? Does anyone even know if we could find out the spring rate for the hotchkis leafs?

Yes, ppl get custom made leaf springs. Call Deaverspring or calvert racing and discuss what you want to do.
I honestly didn't know anyone made custom leaf springs for our trucks.

If someone has a set of hotchkis leafs not on their truck it would be sweet to take them to a spring shop so they can measure the dimensions and check what the spring rate is, then anyone would be able to get a set custom made, or even do a group buy once we have the specs.

I have a low miledge set off the truck. If you find a shop in socal, I could maybe take them to be examined. Calvert is in socal I think.

Any reason you are tying to duplicate that specific spring?

I have Alcan Spring in Colorado building me a pair. I should have read reviews before ordering them...
I contacted a few spring makers, Alcan had the best responses to my questions. They knew the OE springs I have by memory, he was rattling off the specs, number of leaves, thicknesses, etc. from a cold call. My non-R/T springs are what Dodge called 2250lb, I am having 1000lb made in the same length and arch. I have lowered hangers so I should be able to get the truck to set where I want it. They will be made like car springs instead of truck springs, no overload leaf making them linear rate instead of progressive rate. I have no intention of carrying any significant weight, I have a full size truck for that.
I talked to Detroit Eaton about custom springs, that was a waste of time. After a few back and forth conversations, they admitted what they were pushing was a OE replacement set. There was another company that sounded promising until we discussed price, @ $750 each, + shipping, I dropped that potential source.

The springs are to be made to carry 1000lbs ea. I asked about the lbs per inch, was told that will be determined during design. It is based on number of leaves, leaf thickness, amount of arch, etc. Looking for 185 lbs per inch on a 6" arch.

Never tried them yet I heard fairly good reviews about Murphy’s Frame & Axle custom leaf springs.
