    Default Tire size recommendations

I just acquired a set of stock R/T rims and now I need a set of tires. I want something decent that fills the wheel well but not rub. The trucks been lowered about 2 inches all the way around. What size have y’all used? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2" drop front/rear. I have 255/50's on the front. They fit & fill the wheel well nicely. They are a little short for the rear tho. The stock 255/55 also fit well, but are getting harder to find. The rear will fit just about anything you can throw at it. I have dis-continued 305/45/17 BFG's for highway tires. M&H 390/40/17 for around town. Lots of guys like General or Nitto tires.

^I agree. I have a Hotchkis TVS in my so it does handle pretty well with the 255/50s on it, but I feel like it would look better with a little more sidewall, so I guess I've gotta pick my battle.

I think if I'm still running 17s when I need tires next, I might give Nitto NT450s in a 275/50R17 a try. I'm running Riken Raptors right now and they've been great tires for the price, in my experience, I just don't think they came in a 275/50.

The Federals SS-595 255/55-17 are still being sold. Until they dry up I'll keep buying them.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I’m gonna try some Nitto 275/50/17s. They appear to b about the same size as 255/55s but about an inch wider. I’ll keep y’all posted on how it comes out.

The Nittos are what are on my truck right now; straight line grip is meh, but they handle decent enough:

I run the 275/50r17 NT450's on all 4 corners, I like them for the money. Don't feel bad about doing burnouts, and they look killer. This is on a stock height R/T

Just got of Nittos on the back of my today. 275/50-17. I had Michelins on it. 275/55-17. I was surprised how much smaller the Nittos look.

I run Ventus ST RH06 in 255/50/17 size also. No rubbing issue. These Hankook tires have superb dry traction but wet grip isn't impressive. I'm planning to get 275/50's for my next set of tires.
