Just want to be sure here. Are spindles from a V6 Dakota the same as V8 spindles? My local wrecking yard has them for 65 bucks.
Thanks guys!

Ball joints and hubs are exactly the same. Just make sure you don't destroy the boots when you separate your old spindle.
Tie rod end technically changed but most people say you can use your existing and just get an alignment. Would need one with new ends anyways.
Same thing with the brake hoses. They technically changed but people will tell you they kept their old hoses and they worked just fine.
I plan on doing new hoses as well. Now I need to find that link to braided stainless lines someone used...

I made my own "kit" for the rear when I installed the line lock, a lot cheaper than that from summit. Just -3an Ptfe lined braided ss lines. an to flair adapters and the correct banjo for the caliper. I want to say m10 banjo but it was a while ago so Im not certain.
Crown performance makes stainless lines for everything

I just looked up Crown, no kits listed for our Dakota's So, you probably have to call to have them make a set.

Good to know there's an option for hoses, but I'm looking for SS lines. Don't have to be braided. My rear line currently is 3 lines all compression fitted together as bandaids from new england rust, and the driver's side front I replaced with a piece that was a bit too long and just wrapped in a circle because I didn't want to reflare the end.
Buy a nice bender, flaring tool, straight stock, and fittings, fab them yourself.

I got my 03 spindles & splash guards from the wrecking yard, $130 & some tax for the state. After shopping prices between Rock Auto, NAPA, Summit & Ebay. I ordered 02-03 Durango semi-loaded calipers w/brackets from NAPA for 58.90 ea. Rock Auto is shipping hoses, hubs & Brembo brake pads (that are being discontinued) for 9 bucks. I have always used semi-metalic pads, so I'm gonna stick with them. I will probably be ordering Power Stop rotors here soonly.

OK...New question. So, I realize I need the 2 bolts that hold the caliper to the spindle. I go thru my scrap bolts to come up with a size. It turns out that our head bolts thread into the caliper. BUT, these things wobble around in the threads like crazy! The bolts are 1/2" -13 thread. I went to the store a bought grade 8 bolts 1 1/2" long, but the loose fit bothers me! Is there a special bolt for these, or is it OK that the threads are so sloppy?!

LOL, the brake caliper bolts are metric thread, don't know thread pitch off the top my head.
This signature has been deleted thanks to photobucket!
Check mcmaster car and get the correct thread and shoulder size. And i do believe Chad is right about them being metric.
Sweet! Thanks guys! I figured they were probably metric, but didn't think a 1/2 -13 would thread in there if it were metric.

If I remember right from when I did the 5-lug swap, they're M12-1.75, but I'd buy a cheapy first from the hardware store to check it before ordering something from McMaster.

I can put together stainless braided DOT hoses for the front end, about $100 a pair shipped to you
Just the braided lines though. No hard mount section like factory
