Default Crank no start please help

    1997 Dakota sport 5speed
It got to starting issue a few months age, an has started getting worst.
Ok now if I put the key in the switch and the fuel pump comes on and stays on.
The guages test and the fuel guage stops at empty.
Turns over fine but does not start. Checked for fire at coil. No spark., Also when it is doing this the data port under the dash will not read on my scanner.
Some times I can cycle the key on and off and some times that gets it to work.
I have turned on the key and walked away for an hour and still no start.
Ok I can tell when it will start, the fuel guage starts reading right and the pump stops running like it does normal.
Them when it starts it will start every time until I let it set for a while, then back to the no start.
Ok I have tried a none good key switch, did not help. Have changed all relays 2 times to make sure it is not the issue.
The only code I every get is a misfire come.
I have seen some issue but no one has a real fix I can find.
    Help Help Help
Need it fixed by second week of November

Reading this post gave me a migraine but I'm going to say you probably have a bad ECM.

If your scanner is losing communication then it's probably a wiring or ECM problem.

Yes to pressure, checked all fuses
After messing with the key on and off it started
Then starts every time if you do not key off for more then a few minutes
    Then back to no start

Check to make sure you have power and ground at the PCM when you roll the key to the run position. If you have power and ground at the PCM and still have no communication with the PCM then check your wiring from the OBD 2 connector to the PCM. If that's all good you need a PCM.
