Yeah my pc would reduce it for me but it crashed for the final count. Now I'm using my laptop but the same program don't work the same on it.

Anyway the 8 1/4 rear is stronger than people think and should be fine, just watch your rpm when doing a burnout, I use to break axles in the burnout from wheel hop.
all good man!!! i got banned shortly after you did so i probably would not have been able to reply back to you any way! lol..i did a bunch or research and decided that the 8 1/4 will be fine to start..i will upgrade to something different when i cant keep it together any more

still been trucking away at the build...dont get on the forum much but im still here not too much progress been saving my pennies getting ready to order more parts. i was able to get my block dropped off to my builder in Spokane and put a deposit down he will be starting on it shortly!!! original plan was just boring it over and some forged pistons..but after some thinking and reading deciding to go 408 with a full scat rotating assembly and some indy heads!! should be a fun little truck when done cant wait!

Been a while since my last update..been busy with summer stuff and progress has slowed down as we are saving for a house...picked up the short block from my machinist over the weekend..i got it converted over to manual brakes as well as got my fuel log and regs mounted... not alot of progress but some is better then none!

    Little Update-

while saving for a house has slowed project down a little bit i was able to sneak a little money out for the rear end. i was originally going to run the 8 1/4 until it blew...but wanting to be relatively smart and not have a silly track mishap while i am trying to learn the truck i opted to upgrade..alot of research and cruising the web i landed on going with a ford 9" im not a junkyard cruiser and with some things i think its just easier to get new.. i opted for a quick performance ford 9" housing and axle package.. 1/4" walled tubes fabbed center section and 31 spline axles...a good friend of mine was nice enough to gift me a complete center section..nothing fancy but it will get me going... bone stock with some 3.55 gears and a spool...i don't know how the gears will work out but i figured they are an ok starting point and easy enough to change down the road... will be going with disc brakes on the rear...next up is doing the shock brackets and relocation

Little more progress on the 9" install..... keep in mind i am not a chassis guy or a fabricator most of my skills/knowledge are all self taught google college.

Stole the idea from adobe (david) really like how the had the upper shock tube done...measured about 24 times and drilled once came out pretty good now to get it all tacked up and make any final tweaks before final welding it!!!
