Thread: Canton Racing Oil Filter Adater Plate

  1. #1

Default Canton Racing Oil Filter Adater Plate

Canton Racing used to make billet aluminum oil filter adapter plate that uses an O-Ring to replace the paper gasket used on the stock adapter plate but discontinued it because they weren't selling enough. I for one have had a problem over the years getting it to seal permanently. I've replaced the plate, gasket and used sealant and it's OK for a while but after time start getting that annoying little oil leak and I frigging hate any kind of leak!

I emailed Canton to see if they would be interested in doing a run on the plate if enough people were interested. Just trying to gage how many might be interested if Canton is willing to do this. They do make one for the small block LA and it's around 50.00 so I'm assuming it would be in that neighborhood.

*Edit* Got an email back from Canton. They said if we can get 30 people committed, it would make it worthwhile for them to tool up and make them.

Anyone have an annoying little oil leak they haven't been able to trace? Good chance it's the adapter plate. Also if you're relocating the oil filter, it would be a good way to eliminate any possible issue with the stock plate leaking and the plate allows for more oil flow. It has 8 holes instead of six.

You can count me in for one.
I don't have a leak and wasn't aware of a problem but I do plan on remote mounting filters on my 408 build.

Perhaps sharing this on FB will help the buy count.

Hmmm... was just throwing it out there. However, group buys on FB are sometimes hit and miss. Also, some page admins are sensitive about GB's. Was just a thought.

C'mon boys pony up. It is a great upgrade for a problem area on Magnums. If nothing else, show some of these vendors there's a market for our shit!

I still don't understand what this does. Do you use it when you use the LA 90* filter mount?

BUMP, is this to use a different than stock filter? I'm still confused.

replaces the stock stamped steel plate with a solid aluminum plate that uses an O-ring, better sealing surface and larger/more holes for increased flow.
