    Default Q2 TOTQ 2017 - Wiggsy72

Here's the scoop on my 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T. I bought it 2000 from Coquitlam Chrysler, it was one of those buy back trucks due to the towing capacity issue. It's pretty much an all options truck for it's time with the only custom items being a rear roll pan and exhaust.

First thing I did was get the bed sprayed with Amaguard and install a tonneau cover by Extang.

I then joined up with Northwest Dakota R/T club for a while. Danno suggested lowering the truck and I didn't hesitate. I purchased the Hotchkis springs from Mopac and did the install at a friends body shop with a few other interested local R/T guys.

I also made a new rear seat housing two 12" subs and the amp rack. The top is covered with the same material found on the doors and seats to make it look original. Nobody sits back there anyway so it all worked out. Eventually changed out all the speakers and several decks later to where it's at today with a very nice fold out touch screen.

The truck has been a daily driver and has now since been retired to pleasure use only. It has 115,000 miles on it now. I've rebuilt the transmission, the rear end, new axles just last year. Over the past years I've installed various items, M1 intake manifold, smoothed out throttle body, crappy Flowtech headers (the worst ever), Bilstein shocks, upper lower control arms, tie rod ends, electric fan, red top Optima battery, front bumper skin, Pontiac style glass hood, SS exhaust tips I scooped from the brewery when I worked there, K&N cold air intake, pinch weld trim pieces, 20" R/T rims, CCFL halo headlights, alarm system with remote start, hidden backup camera, 40 series SS Flowmaster muff, high flow Cat and the usual brake and rotor replacements.

Still has the original paint except for the tail gate, the hood, front bumper and pinch weld trim. I plan on fixing up the front bumper (not the greatest installation, kinda wavey) and fixing some issues on the glass hood. Lots of little nit picky things.

Recently rebuilt the engine this spring. Short list: Bored 30 over, zero decked block, EQ heads, one piece SS valves, Hipotek 210XP Cam, 2800 stall TQ, BBK 52mm TB, M1 intake, Harland Sharp RR, 10:1 compression and JBA shortie headers. Most importantly tuning by Flying Ryan Performance.
