Default Drive shaft ripped in 2

Need some help in determining what's wrong. Going down interstate and big noise. Drive shaft is totally broken in two pieces, rear section is on the highway some ware. U-joint is still attached to differential. Front half is still in transmission. Transmission leaking fluid. Engine starts and runs good, park position locks drive line. I have not pulled drive shaft from trans yet. Need to clean off transmission to see where leak is coming from.
Did transmission lock-up someway or did u-joint lock, something locked to cause the split driveshaft and u-joint damage.

Where do I go from here? Might have to take it to shop.

If you didn't stick it in park while cruising or the rear didn't lock up, the clicking & squealing sounds you may have been hearing was the u-joint, it finally seized. I wouldn't be surprised if the fluid is from a crack in the tail shaft housing, you might get lucky and it came from the seal when the remaining driveshaft was flopping around.
