After getting my license at age 16, my first vehicle was a 1965 Datsun L320 Truck. What, you haven't seen one before? Looks like this:

Sold it 5 years later to by something that had more parts available. Got into Motorcycles and wanted something to haul the race bike to the track, and was in the market for a V8 truck. I knew I wanted a Dodge. Didn't have to think about it for very long before I decided on a Dakota R/T. Joined this site in 2009, and began to look, getting the word out I was looking for one. Saw many RC, but wanted a CC in white. Wasn't long before an R/T Member messaged me, letting me know he was thinking of selling his 2000 White CC. After he told me what he had done to it, and send pictures, it was what exactly I was looking for. Not overkill on mods, but a lot of what I would have done anyhow. Collected my stored cash, and bought a one-way plane ticket to San Diego. Met with Rickysnickers, he picked me up at the airport, drove me around in it for a while, and I was sold. Gave him the agreed amount of $$ in Jacksons, and off I was for the 500 drive home up the coast. That drive wasn't long enough, and I just wanted to keep on driving. 52,000 miles from that date, and almost 10 years, I am still loving it, and no plans to get rid of it soon. It's my toy. The upgrades and rebuild list is getting smaller.

So, I had a 71 383 Cuda in Sno white that was supposed to be "rust repaired" when I got it. But, the quarters started bubbling and I could see rust trails at all the seams under hood, they really showed against the white. I decided to put it on autotrader in the summer of 99 and a guy from Georgia bought it. At the time "we" needed a pickup to be able to do some yard work around the place, so that's what I started looking for. I test drove a couple V6 Dakota's because I really liked the new body style. I had a friend at work who had a friend whose dad owned a local used car lot, he sold newer nice stuff. Well, that friend told me off this Dakota R/T this guy had on the lot. I was very interested to say the least! Oooo...come to find out those R/T's came with the 5.9 (360 for us old farts) V8! That was the beginning of my search for an R/T. I found my "weird blue" one at a Ford dealer about 120 miles away. The weird blue one was a 99 Deep Amethyst club cab... I was in love! I had to have it. 18 years next month, I still love this beast of a truck! She has sure been thru a lot of changes over the years.
