If you are talking about a "flash" for the pcm, you should look into a vendor that does the SCT tunes.

His is Sam Parthemer - he is on facebook. Socal went out of business almost a decade ago.

The tuning is mostly done by email these days. FRP in our vendor section is the top tuner for our trucks.

If the engine has sat for 5 years or more you will need to replace the valve springs and valve seals, also make sure you prime the engine before trying to start it, also may need to pout some marvel mystery oil down into the cylinders(through the spark plug holes) let the oil soak for a day then turn engine over by hand to make sure rings aren't stuck.

I never understood why the need to replace unused valve springs. Cycles over time are what weaken and degrade a spring. As long as it's not over extended or compressed to cause plastic deformation, the springs should be ok. --from a text book point of view. Is there real world testing somewhere that says otherwise? Like a spring compressed for 5 years, not cycled, then spring pressure measured to show a loss of spring strength?

Thank you for that. honestly i was only thinking about the old fuel and oil and posiibly the asshole mice that have more than likely taken up residency.

Sam did my engine too, in 2004. He contracted with a guy named Jack, actually. I've put about 20k or so on it since then, and it's run great! I talk to Sam on Facebook occasionally.
