It's been a crazy busy day at work today and I'm just getting caught up on here.

Making a short list of ideas on your suggestions. Thanks for your input guys. Those EQ heads are looking promising, stock crank is good, scat cons and forged pistons. Need to pin down a cam. Who sell's super charger's kits for these thing's anymore? I love them and the noise but I have always enjoyed a great naturally aspirated power plant.

I have a lot of research to do and you guys are making it easier
If you go supercharger the cam needs to be much different then NA. Also cam should match the heads regardless so decide what you plan to do well If you are going with heads and supercharger you are going to be much closer to that $10k mark. Todd's setup proved to me much can be done with a supercharger and stock set of heads for sure if you want to go that route.

Lots of good advice in here, basically the mash up of all of it is to stick with the 360 you can make plenty of power with stock crank and stroke. Invest in quality rods pistons and machining. I recommend building for the future. Decide if you are forever N/A or have the potential for boost down the road. Use good head gaskets and ARP head studs/bolts. The EQ heads will work great for any combo, I prefer aluminum though. As for cam, you can use a supercharger type cam and still make great power NA. I made 330 rwhp with a turbo cam all motor, and now 526 crank hp with a bigger turbo cam NA. Then when you throw boost at it it will really shine.

Better heads, boost cam, quality rods/pistons/head gaskets and studs... you will be ready to party well into the future.

I bought my major pieces from these guys. Lower prices than anyone I found. H-beams in case I ever decided to throw Nitrous at it.

If nothing is wrong with the bottom end or heads, then why not just throw a vortech on the stock motor?

Supercharger sounds great but I'm not interested in fiddling around with a Paxton style or whatever with brackets, belts and pulleys. If I go with a supercharger I'm all for the screw wipple type blower intake manifold mounted air compressor force feeding machine. I doubt that's going to happen so I'm sticking with a well built naturally aspirated engine. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it. Lots of good reading material out there and lots of great ideas coming from you guys on preferred components so keep it coming.

Anyone have any leads on a Kenne Bell supercharger? Can't seem to find any. I'm weighing all options.

I'll have to get my ass into gear and find a block. I've got a guy with a new stock crank, pan and pickup, distributor, con rods and pistons all for $130CDN just have to go check it out.

    Going with: in USD
EQ heads with valves and springs $1100
    Competition Cams - Thumper #20-600-9 grind #283THR7 $337.16
    Comp Cams - Rocker Kit #1425-KIT $353.40
    Comp Cams - Roller Lifters #8920-16 $546.51
    Comp Cams - Timing sets #2103 $47.47

I'm open to cam suggestions as I honestly don't have a clue but learning the lingo in the meantime. That Thumper Cam might be a tough one for Ryan to tune but it's along the line of what I'm looking for...

Don't run the thumper line of cams, they only make sound, that 107 or 106 lsa they are grind on is 1960's bullshit technology. stay in a 110-112 lsa range camshaft.

The 60's were groovy baby, yeah! I get it, sounds sick and probably runs the same but not in a good way. Any suggestions for a Comp Cam? Like these two:

^ + a lot more than 1. Richard helped me choose a cam for my mild build. Send him an e-mail and he will reply.

I got some great feedback from Richard at Hi-Poteck. Going with his custom grind Cam HPT210XP with 110lsa in combination with a 2800 stall.

I found a local donor engine to do the rebuild on. It's from a 2000 Dodge Durango 4x4 for $500CDN. Anything on that engine I should be aware of? I'm guessing the oil pan might be different but an easy fix come swap time.

Lots of good info on here! Going in a similar route, want a 408 but don't have 10K, ha! So may build the 360 with potential to boost later.

Keep us informed on how the build goes.

Getting super annoyed with Canadian Vendors that have been in bussiness for as long as I have been alive and more and have never heard of Enginequest. The only two people that do know are Don at ENTEC Racing and Kane's Performance in Ontario.

Apparently I live in a world where every engine rebuilt is a Chevy followed by Ford

Ordered my EQ bare heads from Jegs this afternoon on sale for $566 for the pair with free shipping. I'll get bronze guides installed, new valves and the appropriate springs for the Cam.
