Thread: Burnout Rubber

    Default Burnout Rubber

Some of you guys probably already know about it but I've been trying to find a good solution to keeping the rubber off quarter panels and fender-well trim when doing burnouts. I used race tape for a while, that polyurethane stuff from Jegs but it looks like shit after a while because the rubber really sticks to it and it's too damn expensive to replace very often. I read up on a couple different forums and some guys recommended Pledge furniture polish. I started using it a while back and it really works. Just spray it wherever the rubber tends to stick and it pretty much just rinses right off at the car wash when you're done racing. Plus my truck now smells lemony fresh!

That is good to know, what is funny is I use to carry a can of pledge in the R/t back when I was into sport trucking. old hot rodder told me to use it under the hood and the engine bay. it repels dirt, cleans the belt sling under the hood and makes your truck smell good.

I wear it as a badge of pride and badassedness.

Rubber from the pic in my sig is still stuck to the truck.

It also gets all over the inner fender well, because it is still there.
