Gonna run e85. Thinking about going carbed. Thoughts?
I read on yellowbullet, that a couple e85 carb builders are spot on out of the box.
I need drivability for the street.

IMO drivability for the street doesnt get any better than EFI. Especially if you have altitude or severe DA changes.
And I know this will get blown out of context and I am fine with that but the drivability lies in the capability of the tuner. I realize JTEC isnt the most sought after controller but some gnarly setups have been tuned on it (to include the VIPER not just dakotas). That said the ability of most in the dakota community may not be up to getting the tune right so a carb may be a better option for you with your knowledge and background and with the shop you have access to.
Don't tell anybody I said especially Dave, GO EFI!

I'm probably gonna need bigger injecters. I currently have 42's.
and reading around, they get those carbs dead on right out of the box people say.
I would go with a stand alone efi (Holley) but way more coin then I was looking to spend. When I go turbo I will definitely go efi stand alone.
Just kicking ideas around. I have a couple months before it is chassi dyno time.
If I wanted to change my dial by the hour...I would have stayed with EFI.

Rip out all the stock wiring, all of it, get a relay board from leash electronics, re wire everything and go carbed until you need EFI for a turbo.

I have done a few E85 JTEC setups, no problems with drivability or consistency....
So yeah, get a carb.

Kris1 needs a carb until he goes Turbo, then a standalone.

why spend the coin on carb swap now just to remove it later and buy a standalone? Get the ecm now and get use to tuning on it so when the turbo comes, your all set.
A built carb for e85 is not cheap.
If he wants to get up and running...carb. if he wants to fucking fuck with it forever... Standalone.
