There are spring and retainer kits out there that allow them to go higher lift. BUT!!!!!! always check piston to valve clearance before running the engine, if you never done this look it up on youtube.
Wise words. I've also heard from others that I'd be safe with my 236/242 @ 108 LSA using 1:65 Hughes rockers. I still checked P/V clearance using "check" springs (see pic). Whats not shown is a dial indicator on the retainers. As the piston was coming up, I'd push the valve down till it touched the piston and note the distance. This was done on both valves at 10° increments. With my pistons having reliefs, I had plenty of clearance.

Seriously, it ran fine. The retainers were beating the crap out of the valve seals but that's it....It didn't even smoke. Oil pump was pretty beat up too.
These were the Shady Dell 1.97 R/T heads I ran for a number of years, I sold em to Danno.

WTF... they're taking all the fun out of engine building. This roller cam sissy stuff must have been invented after my time which was around the third century B.C.

Imagine... no break-in, no special oils, no changing out or doubling up springs after break in, no constant adjustments.....what the hell were they thinking? VIVA the FLAT TAPPET CAM!

Sorry Slowkoda if I made you worry about the cam install.

So today, I'm looking at this 5.9 and saying, "it's just a fuckin engine" (apparently but....not) still learning everything I can and trying to contribute with a mix of my Jurassic knowledge and modern day asshole thinking and the two still seem to have trouble in the mix.
After breakfast I'm doing a lobotomy on myself so i can forget everything.

at 6200 feet, you have room to bump up the compression and stay safe on tuning. I remember driving around my 383 Cuda in C-Springs, USAFA, etc. Damn thing wouldn't turn a tire unless I was on gravel of course, it was a 383 2bbl low compression motor that a prior owner put a 4bbl intake on, but was otherwise bone stock.

Some of these lifters do get quite heafty, but that's where the idea of using a larger ratio rocker helps. Moving the heavy parts less, and the light parts more.

but pay attention to piston to valve clearance. Especially if your pistons don't have reliefs in them.

Forged crank....stock stroke? I may have missed that detail but didn't see it in the original post.

    if we're talking about a 365 inch, with that cam and a 150 shot...to the wheels...I'll guess 425 rwhp

use molding clay, play do is too spongy and will give inaccurate measurements.

Coloring books were found to be racist due to the name, hence they are now banned.
