    Default Hello New Here!!!!!

    Hello,
Just a little info about myself i started off with my first truck being a 98 dakota r/t in 2004 and i loved it. I had to sell her due to starting a family and other reasons. Anyway i just got another r/t 2001 with 64k miles last year and i want to get the most out of her so i figuered i would start here...... Anyway the truck now has 72k on it and is in really nice shape no rust!!!! and im kind of at a stand still on what to do next to increase performance on a somewhat lower budget. What i have done so far is exhast and k&n cold air intake and edge performance chip. I guess what i wanted to know is what upgrades should i do next to notice the most performance increase. Ive heard a lot about 52mm throttle body milling and Mopar Intake manafold just wanted to get some ideas and apperciate any imput.

What part of Troy? I used to live on Swailes Rd for about a year after I left Active Duty. I'm out in Marysville now. Welcome to the site. lots of guys have played with these trucks for awhile and can help point you in the right direction to spend your money.

I highly suggest you ditch the "chip" and buy a real tune. Contact the guy with the banner at the top of the page. he has a tune for a stock truck that can pick up quite a bit of power across the entire RPM range. Check that the plenum gasket hasn't blown and fix it if it has.

I would still wager a 6-pack of good beer that Ryan's canned tune using SCT will out perform that edge tuner.

    FlyinRyan tune $400
find a used M1 intake $500-600 (discontinued, no longer available new)
used Mopar PPH headers $400 (discontinued, no longer available new)
bigger TB such as a 55mm F&B. usually a few hundred used.
then get an updated tune that customized to those mods, again from Ryan.

No. that's a carburetor intake for an old LA style 360. you want an EFI intake for the newer Magnum style 5.9 It can be confusing to a new guy since every Mopar Performance intake is called an M1. You can get a 2bbl M1 EFI, a 4bbl M1 EFI both for the 5.2 and 5.9 motors. You can get an LA 318,340,360 M1, you can get a 383/400 M1, you can get a 413,426,440 M1....
