    Default Bypassing stock amp/speaker swap

Ok guys , I'm getting ready to swap out the door and back speakers again to some alpine type S 3way components in the doors and the Type S 2 ways in the back panels , but I want to bypass the stock amp, I ordered the subaru adapters but does anyone have pics of how it ends up ? I looked on Dak-dur and the pics are gone

I did it to my red truck. I might go work on it this weekend and I'll snap a picture of it.

Didn't know the stock infinity system had an amp from the factory. Was this only on certain years or did they all come with one?

My 99 did , although I've had aftermarket head units and speakers almost since new , just thought it'd be time to bypass it finally

If your stereo has tweeters in the door, then you have the premium audio and there's an auxillary amp in the passenger side kick panel. If you don't have tweeters in your door, then no amp.

Issues with running that amp is that the stock system is set up for 2 ohm speakers, and 90% of aftermarket systems are built for 4 ohm speakers. You could run it, but you'll be pushing half the power the speakers need. -- 25 watts RMS at 2 ohms would be 12.5 watts RMS at 4 ohm.

The reason I never bypassed it , I was going to put a bigger amp to all the highs , just never got around to it and the truck just sat !

If Kingst3r doesn't get you the pics, I'll see if I can snap a couple for you. I did it in my truck and also my dad's truck. It was really simple.

I have tweeters in the doors (I think), up high by the mirrors. This factory amp... can it be tapped into for an extra input to make an aux jack for use with mp3 players/phones?

I just completely ran new wires from my amp to the speakers and from head unit to amp bypassing OEM wires. Easy to do since you will have the panels off to replace the speakers. Sub woofer was under rear seat, amp had outputs for all. I believe you will need a crossover device if you have tweeters.
