Wait, are you using that folding HF hoist?

My buddy has that one. That thing is freaking tiny.

Yes but it looks much bigger in person. I hope the removal of the bumper works. Note to any other R/T Engine removers, get the 2 Ton Hoist instead of the 1 Ton pictures below.

Bumper removed, gave me the room I needed to install the engine yesterday. Been a while since I installed an engine, and it went in without me damaging anything. Mated the flexplate/timing plate to the new 2800 torque converter, using red thread-lock. New Motor mounts in place. M1 install is next, and that is not to be interpreted as next year. Just need to finish trimming the intake gaskets and TB gaskets.

So, in the picture below, it is pretty obvious, but can you see my blunder? Easy fix without having to remove the engine.

So I don't know if it is very visible in the picture above, but the trans cooler lines are sitting above the left motor mount, so I will DISCO-nect them from the trans and reroute them between the motor mount and engine.

Yes, I have been THAT busy, and have taken next week off to work on this project. With the he weather forecast looking favorable, only one day showing the wet stuff falling from the sky. No white stuff where I live. There will be big progress made. I miss this truck, and having to ease on the throttle from a stop when the ground is wet, trying to keep the back end from wanting to step out if I press that pedal to the right too far down.

My MS Valve Body has been sitting in the box, waiting it's union to the trans. Once the engine is running and get some miles on it, the VB will be installed. I have never met Martin in person, but through our phone about this VB, he knows my brother, who passed in 2000, and the performance crowd he worked with.

My HiPoTek 52mm TB has also been eagerly waiting to run with the M1 Intake.

Time is now on my side.

Corey, definitely know what you mean, sometimes life gets in the way, That's a good thing because when it doesn't get in the way anymore, well. . . Just take your time and you'll get there. I'm in the same boat as you, but as much as I want to get it done sometimes more important projects come up, oh well. I'll get there I tell myself, and I will. Just not as fast as I hoped I would. Don't know how much rain you've had in your neck of the woods but at SFO the heavens have opened for the past two days. Hopefully you can get some stuff done while Mother Nature is distracted. LOL!

I'm glad to read you have some time scheduled, Corey! It will feel very rewarding when you hit the key to fire it up. My son hasn't had time away from his busy schedule to start pulling his 185,000 mile engine. The fresh one has been sitting on the stand since May.

    Thank you for your concern!

Progress is still being made, but the weather for the first part of this week, was not in my favor. It never fails when I take time off to work on things, I either get sick, or the weather doesn't cooperate. It's back up in the air, and will continue more progress today. Unfortunately, if you want to hear "vroom-vroom" sounds, I can only sit in it and make them for you, so actual engine noise will have to wait.

Nope, cant mimic cam llope noise, as it will vary with the lobe center, duration, and the 1.7 HS Adjustable Rockers I have in there. I can only mimic the Harley-Davidson Engine Sound by saying, "patata, patata, patata" (like potato if you didn't get it). I know you are saying it now, and have a smile on your face, or are rolling your eyes. LOL!!!

Today's weather is good for working on this..

-Rerouted the trans cooler lines under the motor mount, and alongside the engine, from when the engine was installed. Oh what fun that was, as I fought them ever-so-gently. The Factory Service Manual has a picture of this but had to use a magnifying glass to see how they were routed.
-New motor mounts secured, and wow, are those center thru bolts long.
-Starter, Cerakoted Headers, and all the front stuff (less the water pump)still remain.
-Planning to run electric fan only, as i have one recommended in earlier posts here, just need to wire it up.
-One of the sensors(air intake I believe) was on the upper front passenger side with the kegger, and now is threaded into the driver side of the M1, so I'll have to do some wire extensions to connect it.

How fun is it to crawl around under this truck on jack stands? Hey, it could be in the snow, Phoenix heat, or hi humidity heat, so I really can't/shouldn't complain.

Rick (Rickysnickers), because I know you will eventually read this thread, when it is all compete and tuned, I'd like to do a road trip to San Diego, and let you revisit this truck you created, and I bought from you coming up on 10 years ago, and drove it home.

    Hello Corey,

I assume you ended up finishing this build. Did you ever get it dynoed ater the build and if so what were the numbers. And lastly how much did you end up spending on this build?

I will wait to hear back from you.

    Thanks

Don't hate here because of my reply but I have not completed the reassembly process. I know, I know, but a lot of other stuff has got in the way, taking priority, and I am still part of the "essential" that has me allowed to work during the CV19 Stuff. It is on my list to finish, and when I get back on this I will update more here. It will need a tune, and it will get dyno'ed. I expect the biggest roll-eyes to come from 99dart.

    Everyone stay safe out there.

I am part of the "Essential" that are still working during this time, and I couldn't take it anymore, so I restarted working on my 2000. Laid out everything I have left to install. Yes, those are Cerakote PPH Headers. I have the complete 2000 Series of Orange Factory Manuals, but bolt location is pretty vague. Seems I didn't do that great of a job when I disassembled everything from the engine to get it out, and the manual states there should be one starter stud at the top, but I don't see one in my "bags".
