    Default DIY alignment turntables???

Has anyone made there own or used a diy set and have suggestions?

I have a sheet of 1/4" aluminum that I was thinking about using to make my own. Thinking of putting these between two sheets of aluminum with a center pin. I'll mark the degrees on bottom plate and have an indicator on the top. Could add pins that drop down at +\- 20*. Legit plates for less than 75 bucks.

I used 4 pieces of smooth porcelain tile with grease between the two tiles, you're just wanting the tires to turn easily.

All I did was set toe though...4 jack stands, some string and a tape measure, there are some good videos on YouTube, you can jack the front up to check your bump steer too. The method I used is the one where you set the strings to the chassis center line by measuring off the hubs, then measure off the front and back of the front rims...My truck tracks straight as an arrow.

I'm more interested in adjusting caster.

You don't need turn tables to adjust caster or camber, only need turn tables for toe adjustment.

So what's your method for adjusting caster?

It was directed towards Chad. I need to start doing my own alignments and I have an idea of replacing the shocks with rods and setting the suspension to ride height. Adjustments and access will be easy. You can't get to anything right now.

On a Dakota the upper control arms set caster and camber which is why you don't need turn tables to change it. You just need a big ass ratchet with extension and socket and a crows foot pry bar. It also helps on mine that I don't have the front wheel tubs anymore

You will also need caster/camber gauges doing the alignment in your garage.

But how do you measure the caster. You still have to rotate the wheel the same amount in either direction which is why turn tables with degrees marked is very helpful when adjusting caster.

A normal digital angle finder should do the job if I work directly off that spindle or hub.

Just another option out there if you wanted. I just ordered some, for the money that is worth 1.5 alignments and then you don't have anybody test driving your truck.
