    Default Division 3 summer meet

    Dates are picked. July 7, 8, 9

I stopped in at Kammer's, when asked if they would be interested in a parking lot show n shine, he said "Absolutely!!" So, saturday afternoon schedule is set!

everything else is up in the air. Maybe a day at the AF Museum? not high on my list because I want events that focus on the trucks. Maybe a day driving around Hocking hills state park on Thursday, hopefully beating most of the weekend rush giving us slightly less traffic to deal with? Friday night TnT at LaRue? (LaRue is a redneck po-dunk 1/4 mile track. $5 for TnT night, run what ya brung, they don't even do tech inspections on TnT nights. --I've seen a convertible full of kids, with the top down, all wearing T-shirts, flip flops and shorts make a pass.)

Anyway, mark your calendars, start saving your pennies for gas money. As far as "entry fees" This will be a low key event. May buy 1 trophy for Bob Kammer to hand out as "best of" pick, buy some burgers to cook, a few dollars to cover club insurance policy and make it an official club meet, plus whatever other admin costs the club sets for the summer meets. (T-shirts? Raffle entry? that's all up in the air, not getting a lot of volunteers on getting that stuff put together and I can't do it all by myself)

    Current plan of events:

Thursday: Meet up at Hocking Hills and just drive around all day. Hocking hills is about 45 minutes south/south east of Columbus on US 33. The roads in the area are very twisty and curvy, lots of cool little places to stop off and grab a meal, parking lots througout the park to pull in and hang out.

Friday: Daytime to be determined. I'm open to ideas. (LaRue Racetrack is closed July 1, 2, 8, and 9. So, no TnT there. National Trails is hosting the good guys --1972 and older only-- on Friday June 8th. Not open Thursday or Saturday)

Saturday: Show n Shine n Cookout at Kammer and Kammer's in Dayton Ohio. Dayton is about an hour west of Columbus on I-70. They are a full service machine and fabrication shop complete with engine and chassis dyno. They are mopar guys at heart. next door to the store is also a gun shop. Mopars and Guns. Perfect! There will be food and soft drinks provided. We'll have some small giveaways/door prizes to hand out too.

Entry Fee: $10/person. You pay your own hotel if needed, meals, (other than Saturday afternoon). If you want to secure your entry ahead of time, send a paypal payment to the club and PM me to let me know you're in.

Dammit. Wasn't paying attention. This is Carlisle weekend. Not my intent.

I have a family vacation starting on the 20th. And then the Mopar nationals almost immediately following.

    Let me re-think these dates.

Ok, I looked at my calendar and confirmed the Carlisle dates. (My apologies to D1. I know you've pulled the plug on your DRTC Meet, but I did not pick the dates to try and thumb my nose at you guys. I seriously thought Carlisle was July 7,8,9 because it's always been the weekend right after the 4th...one of those things you don't even have to look up. Just like the Mopar Nationals were always the 2nd weekend in August)

I have a week and a half long family vacation to Washington state on the calendar starting on the 20th, so the last half of July is out. First weekend in August is the Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio, which I am trying to keep open to go, the next weekend is the Mopar Nationals which I will be at, so that pretty much leaves July 7,8,9 to do a division 3 thing.

Have one gift card from OReillys , working on one from Advance. When we get close to a head count, I will get my brother to donate all the meats for a cookout.

I'll be editing the first post with details as we firm things up.

Just added a tenative schedule for the weekend. Hotels are in the area, Columbus, Marysville, Dayton, etc. Have not picked one main hotel yet, but I can block out rooms at a hotel here in town that should be pretty cheap.

Looking for more ideas too. We have an event southeast of columbus, west of columbus...anyone have an idea for something north or northeast of columbus? Or Cincinnatti?

As of now I'm in. That blows that we can't race.

And did you say Mopars and guns? Calling John Drago!

Still up in the air James. May be easier to stay at the same place each night thus why I'm trying to keep things within a reasonable drive of a central place. I'll check into a gun shooting day on Friday. I know a few places that may work with us.

1.5 - 2 hours. Really just depends where in the Columbus area we would be staying.

Norwalk is 2 hours from Marysville, 2 hours from Columbus (4 hours round trip), 3 hours from the machine shop that we'll be at on Saturday.

They do have TnT Friday night. $12.

We can do that if everyone is ok with that much driving, but going there would pretty much require us to book multiple hotels

Yes the dyno is available but not for free. I can ask him how much he'd charge for guys who want to make pulls.
